Masculine Cards
The first one uses Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! This particular paper is on the Last Chance list and is already sold out. However, you can easily modify the design to work with other papers as well, you just need a print that mimics the look of fabric for a button down shirt. For this design, I cut one piece of paper to cover my entire card front, and another smaller, wider piece with the print going the opposite direction so that there is a cuff. Then I tied on a button and then used a Stampin' Write marker to draw on a button hole. I can't take credit for this design, I saw something similar on SplitcoastStampers and created my own version.

Viola Pop Up Card
Each year we have a tradition of providing our daughters' teachers with an end of the year meal as our thank you for all their hard work and dedication during the school year. We send in a menu so they can select their appetizer, entree, and dessert. I always try to come up with really cute way to present the menu so I decided to use the pop up card I found in Stampin' Success. Using the Viola, Viola to Go and Yummy (SAB set), I ended up with a cute restaurant scene.
This card is actually very simple to make. You start with a square piece of paper. Your square can be as small or large as you like. I used a 12x12 square of Kraft cardstock.
Fold the square paper in half two times in both directions so that when you open it up, you've divided it into 4 equal sections. Unfold the paper and place it in front of you. Cut the crease dividing the two bottom squares up to the center. Stopping where all the folds intersect. In the top right square section, put a diagonal crease from the center point of the card to the outside point of that quadrant. When the card is completely decorated, pull the bottom right quadrant over the bottom left and adhere. This creates a diagonal cross section of a box. To fold the card, the quadrant with the creased diagonal is folded as it pushes in allowing the other sections to fold with it.
Before you adhere the bottom quadrants to form your box, it is best to to the decorations on the outside and inside when the paper is flat. Just keep in mind how it will fold and where you need to tie things together. I'm including a photo of the outside of my card so that you can see how it looks all folded.
To make the chef pop off the page, you just need a small strip of paper that you can fold into a little box without a top and bottom. A 1/4" x 1 1/4" long strip works well. Score the strip at 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" and then fold at the score marks to create the box. Attach two adjoining sides to the bottom and side of your pop card and then attach your stamped image to the front of your mini box. When attaching images to the quadrant with the diagonal crease, only attach it to either the top or bottom triangle if you have an image that goes across the crease. For my menu board, I used an L-shape type bracket attached to the back of the board and then to the bottom of the pop up card. I added one dimensional just to the bottom of the diagonal crease to keep it from flopping over once the card was opened.
You'll probably also notice that the chef is very well dressed. To do this, I stamped him once each on Whisper White and Designer Series Paper (Rockabilly Specialty- black stripe and red polka dot). I cut the entire chef out on the red polka dot from Rockabilly Specialty, then I just cut the pieces I needed from the Whisper White and black stripe from Rockabilly Specialty and glued them down in the appropriate places. I then glued the entire assembly onto basic black and cut it out again. This just gave it some finish so the back didn't look Hodge podge.
This technique can be used with any stamp set and papers. For this project I used:
- Rockabilly Specialty Designer Series Paper
- Candy Lane Designer Series Paper
- Whisper White Card Stock
- Kraft 12x12 Card Stock
- Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
- Viola Stamp Set
- Viola To Go Stamp Set
- Yummy Stamp Set (SAB set)
- Very Versatile Stamp Set

My First Time - Decor Elements
The Decor Elements are very easy to use. They are vinyl and applied in a manner similar to rub-ons. The instructions are provided with the Decor Element you select. When applied to a smooth surface like a wall, glass, or plastic, they can also be easily removed. I don't think they can be removed from paper without potentially damaging the paper, but I also haven't tried yet.
The Last Chance List has several Decor Elements listed so if you've been considering any of these items, now might be the time to buy!
I was also inspired by a gal at Regionals who decided to place some Decor Elements on her laptop computer so I put four flowers on our laptop. Good thing my husband is comfortable with his "feminine side" because he now gets to use a laptop with Chocolate Flowers on it. I suppose things could be worse for him, I could have used pink.
