I'm in the process of moving my blog to <a href="http://www.stampinfrogblog.wordpress.com/">www.stampinfrogblog.wordpress.com</a>. I'm in the process of moving all the content of this blog over to the new location, but as you know with any relocation, there are some growing pains! As I learn the new platform, you may find some posts here at blogspot, but as the months continue, hopefully this will become less frequent.<br />
<br />
Please take some time and visit the new site, give me some feedback and let me know what is still missing and features you'd like to see.<br />
<br />
Thanks!<br />

To avoid the Christmas chaos, we had her party in January. I was inspired by some invites I saw online and used my retired Matchbox Diecut to make beds and sleeping girls. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/02/18/1719.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/02/18/s_1719.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/02/18/1720.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/02/18/s_1720.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Phoebe picked colors for each friend based on their personal preferences. You'll see I used a few retired papers from Stampin' Up! The hair was also customized to match each girl.<br /><br />My house is small so Phoebe + 10 friends + the rest of our household was overwhelming. So, we booked adjoining rooms at a local hotel. The girls got to eat popcorn, swim, watch movies, plus they loved being at a hotel.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/02/18/1721.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/02/18/s_1721.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/02/18/1722.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/02/18/s_1722.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />For party favors, I made little makeup bags and loaded them with sample size shampoos, lotions, fingernail files, and handmade sleep masks. The girls loved them!<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/02/18/1723.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/02/18/s_1723.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />The bags were not made with Stampin' Up! Here are two inspired by projects I found on Pinterest (my new favorite iPhone app!)<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/12/08/1090.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/12/08/s_1090.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />The cute flame less candle snowman was a CASE of Barb Mullikin's design, but I had to use the ornament punch trimmed to shape.<br /><br />The Santa Pants treat holders were by a gal named Lynda, but I simplified and used my die cut machine for the box. I used the hostess set, Happy You (item #122800 for wood or 122802 for clear). I made a bunch of 4x4 cards. I used Tangerine Tango and Floral District DSP. The ribbon is left from Sale-A-Bration 2012. I always earn so much product during Sale-A-Bration.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/26/1682.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/26/s_1682.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/26/1683.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/26/s_1683.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Additionally, I had these fun oversized paperclips that I had found at Walmart so I made up some fun book marks.<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/26/1684.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/26/s_1684.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/26/1685.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/26/s_1685.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> These are pretty easy to make, just sandwich the paperclips between the large circles. Fun and super easy. These would make great teacher gifts or first day of school treats for your kids.<br /><br />God Bless and Happy Stampin'<br />Charity<br /><br />- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br /><p class='blogpress_location'>Location:<a href='http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Bothell,%20WA&z=10'>Bothell, WA</a></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2716436895996454811.post-74423881234709084262012-08-12T15:21:00.001-07:002012-08-12T15:21:13.567-07:00Cookie Envelope or Christmas Tree Ornament?As we continue with temperatures above 80F, I'm beating the heat by thinking about Christmas. :)<br /><br />The new holiday mini includes a great Designer Kit called Season of Sweets which is designed for giving yummy cookies. But, look at it a different way and you have a cute and simple Christmas ornament. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/12/3034.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/12/s_3034.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />In just a short time, using mostly materials from the Designer Kit. Supplement with additional ribbon, card stock, and stamps- and possibilities are endless!<br /><br />First is one of my little boy, Liam.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/12/3036.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/12/s_3036.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I used some punches and the Googlies from 27 to create a reindeer. Then I added a sentiment, the rest is from the kit. I sealed the back with snail, but you could use 3 way glue for a seal and include the cookie since the kit includes food safe cellophane bags. <br /><br />My second ornament is one with the whole family. I kept both ornaments simple so you can see how easy and fun this kit is for kids.<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/12/3037.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/12/s_3037.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />On the back of this one, I used the Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags to add our names.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/12/3038.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/12/s_3038.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />For my teacher friends, this would make a fun holiday gift for kids to make at school while spending very little money. You can make 24 ornaments by buying two designer kits (item #126912), one package of tags (item #128152), and one package of Googlies (item #127539)- total cost of $24.35 before taxes and shipping. You can add your choice of ribbon or bakers twine for a hanger for approximately $5-10, depending on what you select. <br /><br />God bless and happy Stampin',<br />Charity<br /><br />Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2716436895996454811.post-36424933784249987642012-08-11T13:28:00.000-07:002012-08-11T13:28:07.870-07:00Dive Into Digital DesigningAugust is a great month for digital designing. It is the Stamp Set of the Month Feature. Each month, I will feature projects made using a particular stamp set. If you purchase the stamp set of the month, you will receive a kit with the supplies (cardstock, ribbon, and accessories) and instructions to complete the features projects. The stamp set of the month feature will be posted at the beginning of the month. Throughout the month, additional ideas using the featured stamp set will be shown for more ideas and inspiration.<br />Now you know how it works, let's see what August has in store. The August stamp set of the month is Moving Forward. This set is on page 209, priced at $19.95 for wood mount (item #126320) and $14.95 for clear mount (item #126322). I picked this set because it is the Ronald McDonald House Charity set. For each set that is purchased, Stampin' Up! donates $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities. I'm a big fan of these sets and I really liked the cute frog in this one- of course! Plus, Stampin' Up! gave all demonstrators attending convention this set for free, asking us to pay it forward by featuring these stamps in classes and projects. What better way to do that than, start off my new feature with Moving Forward. <br />The project kit you will receive will allow you to make one card (includes envelope) and one book mark. The card is a CASE of one by Andi Potler and the book mark is a CASE of the one on page 209 of the catalog.<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/06/4655.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/06/s_4655.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Again, you will receive the cardstock, accessories, and ribbon necessary to complete these projects. I will cut everything to size. Unless you request otherwise, I'll make sure the big shot and punch steps are also complete. You'll need to provide ink and adhesive. If you don't have the same inks, you can also bring your kit to one of my workshops to complete your projects.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/06/4656.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/06/s_4656.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />God Bless and Happy Stampin'!<br />Charity<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2716436895996454811.post-11144439968726176652012-08-05T14:01:00.001-07:002012-08-05T14:01:52.249-07:00Retired Stamp Sets For SaleI'm parting with some well loved stamp sets so I can make room for more! SWAPs. I have two designs this year. The first is made up of leftover pieces:<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/07/20/1029.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/07/20/s_1029.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />The banner and Certainly Celery pieces are both leftover from other projects. If you've ever been to one of my parties, you know I keep a basket of these pieces. :)<br /><br />My second card was inspired by something I saw on pinterest:<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/07/20/1031.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/07/20/s_1031.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />The girls did a HUGE part of the work for this card. Tim even helped. Isabel and Phoebe both worked on the paper weaving. Tessa and Tim helped adhere the boots. <br /><br />Yesterday I had two great classes plus make and takes. I already mentioned one by Bonnie Thurber, and the second was by Emily Montoya called I am reaching out. She was a great presenter and is expecting a baby girl in October. If she hits Oct. 14, we'll be birthday buddies, but no pressure! LOL<br /><br />Also we learned that My Digital Studio 2 will be released soon and you will LOVE all the great features. I could barely contain my excitement about the improvements. <br /><br />More to come soon including Momento Mall goodies, Campus Tour and Product Showcase.<br /><br />God Bless and Happy Stampin'!<br />Charity<br /><br /><br />- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br /><p class='blogpress_location'>Location:<a href='http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Salt%20Lake%20City,%20Utah&z=10'>Salt Lake City, Utah</a></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2716436895996454811.post-89868840297448447622012-07-19T13:39:00.001-07:002012-07-19T13:59:44.726-07:00Stampin' Up! Bonnie is so funny. I think I my dream workshop would be her, Shelli, Tessa, Isabel, Phoebe and my pal Diana. Tessa would insist on sitting in between Bonnie and Shelli, Tim would make some great chocolate desserts. Can you picture it?<br />Here is my tip of the day that I just devised while working on my make and takes. The paper piercing tools are more intricate now and if the move, harder to line up. I decided a reversible tote with flower and ribbon embellishments. The bag is very easy- about a 4 1/2 hour project.<br /><br />I used two full size pieces of Flirtatious Fabric for the bag. I folded each piece half. For the side with ribbon embellishment, I used the iron on fabric adhesive to adhere the ribbon to the fabric, allowing for 1/2 inch on each sides to be captured in the seam. I sewed the sides up using a 5/8 inch seam.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2077.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2077.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2078.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2078.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2079.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2079.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />I wanted box corners. To do this, trim the corner, press flat and stitch.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2080.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2080.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2081.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2081.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2082.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2082.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> <br />For the flower, I used a rag rug kind of technique to create the center. Twist the fabric and turn on itself to form the center. I used needle and thread to secure the thread but hot glue can also work.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2083.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2083.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />For the "petals" I tore several strips of fabric in equal widths. I stitched the ends together and the used a running stitch to gather one edge. I then stitches it to the back of my flower slowly working my way around and out to create the flower. Once complete, sew to the bag.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2084.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2084.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2085.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2085.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2086.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2086.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2087.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2087.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2088.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2088.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />For straps, I folded a long strip in half and sew it together on the raw edge. Then I turned it right side out and ironed it. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2090.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2090.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2091.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2091.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />I totally forgot to take photos of the next steps to finish the bag, so hopefully my instructions will be clear. With right sides together place one bag inside the other. Place the straps between the two sides so the raw edge of each end is caught up when you sew the bag together. Sew together leaving an opening so you can turn the right sides out. Fold the raw edges of the opening in and sew closed. I also sewed all the way around at 1/4 inch. Here is the finished bag:<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2092.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2092.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2093.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2093.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/05/05/2094.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/05/05/s_2094.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2716436895996454811.post-34447473656787207852012-04-29T18:22:00.001-07:002012-04-29T18:22:44.579-07:00Crosses of Hope Confirmation InvitesIsabel will be confirmed on June 3. Stampin' Up! has posted the annual retirement list for stamps and accessories. I'll warn you, it is a little larger than usual. However, do not be concerned. First, you'll notice that the Classic Stampin' Pads are retiring but don't worry, we aren't having another color renovation. Stampin' Up! is reconfiguring the pads to go from the current cloth ones to foam ones. The new configuration will provide better coverage and crisper stamped images. You'll also see that some of the 12x12 cardstock will be retiring. Based on sales, Stampin' Up! is reconfiguring the packaging and offering some colors only in a package for the entire color family. If you have questions about items on the retired list, please contact me. Stampin' changes always mean greater opportunity for creativity.<br />

Both picked little goodies to give to their classmates so we had to do some kind of 3D project. Plus, it had to be simplified to allow both kids to complete with little frustration on everyone's parts!<br /><br />Liam had two designs, one for the toys he picked for the boys and one he picked for girls. For the boys, he picked little toy dinosaurs but I didn't have any dinosaur stamps or MDS dinosaur brush art! Time to get creative. Punch art is a great "go to" for this situation, but small kindergarten hands and tired mommy would not go well when mixed with 16 Valentine's. So, I decided to do my punch art in My Digital Studio and create a small bag topper Liam could use for his dinosaurs.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/14/3091.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/14/s_3091.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/14/3092.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/14/s_3092.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Once I printed onto Whisper White card stock, I cut and folded for Liam. He wrote all the names and his sisters helped him staple to the cellophane bag.<br /><br />For the girls, we used the Totally Amazing stamp set, Fancy Favor die cut, 2 1/2 inch circle punch, Real Red card stock and bakers twine. Liam picked out fun little Valentine notepads.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/14/3093.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/14/s_3093.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Liam loves mazes so I knew we'd be buying the Totally A-maze-ing stamp set and it worked great for his Valentine's. I cased the envelope from another demo, but I failed to write down her information. So, if this was you idea first, let me know! Anyhow, cut your card stock to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. Then use the fancy favor to cut one front and two sides of the box (don't use the side with the sealing flap). Cut off the rectangular bottom flaps and then fold and stick. Here is a picture of the back:<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/14/3094.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/14/s_3094.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Embellish and decorate. His sisters and I helped with attaching the twine but Liam glued on the mazes and wrote all the names.<br /><br />Tessa did a similar design using My Digital Studio for the front artwork.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/14/3095.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/14/s_3095.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/14/3096.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/14/s_3096.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />The boys had sports themed notepads which did not fit so we used the scalloped square die cut with folded card stock and sealed two sides:<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/14/3097.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/14/s_3097.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/14/3098.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/14/s_3098.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/14/3099.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/14/s_3099.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Again, I tied on the twine but Tessa did the rest.<br /><br />I can't wait to hear how their parties went and see if their classmates liked their Valentines.<br /><br />Happy Valentine's Day to You! Finally! An excuse for me to order the Under the Stars stamp set. I've wanted that set every since I saw those moving arm bear cards after convention a few years back. I just couldn't justify it until I had a party to plan. And, since the annual family camp for families affected by Juvenile Arthritis (<a href="http://www.arthritis.org/chapters/washington/kat-fish.php">KAT-FISH Camp</a>) will have an outdoor/Great Northwest theme this year, I think my stamps will get some use again in July. <br />
<br />
First, Isabel's invitation, I saw several ideas on Splitcoast Stampers that inspired me, but one by Sarah Wills was the one I eneded up CASEing. I did it a little differently and also added the little party banner but I have to give credit to Sarah for the idea.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSrhR0CxDt8V3zZTnFeNPmk-kdDKFnHLI5P_ZVw3pYpKmAVgaHJobBoRdI8XYJbOSH7bgLCyuupayGauZM7utbmEDIOYIPy4RnvY7cpO-7Nf85ACsDWT4l7l3AeZa3k8qPIx976EqqqkM/s1600/IMG_3857%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSrhR0CxDt8V3zZTnFeNPmk-kdDKFnHLI5P_ZVw3pYpKmAVgaHJobBoRdI8XYJbOSH7bgLCyuupayGauZM7utbmEDIOYIPy4RnvY7cpO-7Nf85ACsDWT4l7l3AeZa3k8qPIx976EqqqkM/s400/IMG_3857%255B1%255D.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, and Blushing Bride for the card base, grass and tent. On the base, I sprayed Vanilla Simmer Smootz Spritz to mimic a starry night. I ran the tent flaps through my crimper to make it look like it was gathered and pulled back. The tent stakes are little pieces of twigs from a bush in our front yard and were tied to the tent flaps with linen thread.<br />
<br />
The bear was stamped onto Crumb Cake and I colored his muzzle and stomach with my VersaMark marker. His banner is made from Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo cardstocks, letters stamped in Basic Black using the Calendar Alphabet and Numbers, and then the Itty Bitty Punches. I sandwiched bakers twine between the circle piece and the letter piece to make each banner. I punched a small hole in each hand of the bear and tied the banner on.<br />
<br />
The sleeping bags were stamped onto pieces of Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper. <br />
<br />
Now for the fun party favors and activities. We decorated the house with our camping equipment and supplies. We put some green balloons on the floor and added an old Christmas tree along with a few woodland stuffed animals. We also made signs that you might find in campground- don't feed the bears, stay on the trail, etc. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeej4VG_YiEOQRWoh9DmcZn2i0_tLe2S4g0X7AhTSqk5csb4Kq7Wyw1xAzBb0q_VyMWoCPvoeZDpx73l22Wh5ml2D8VSD2egv8EQJhEltshSrG-zmxLOsD6ifdaJEh2mKP9ztUiCk1Dv4/s1600/IMG_3884%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeej4VG_YiEOQRWoh9DmcZn2i0_tLe2S4g0X7AhTSqk5csb4Kq7Wyw1xAzBb0q_VyMWoCPvoeZDpx73l22Wh5ml2D8VSD2egv8EQJhEltshSrG-zmxLOsD6ifdaJEh2mKP9ztUiCk1Dv4/s320/IMG_3884%255B1%255D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I also cut several stars from soda cans and tied them to fishing line and a black helium balloon. We had 13 balloons in the living room with the stars hanging from them to be our starry night. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1Xc9wNewZFu3CQH2uyONr0Sr1IYosIKAtpzKkmnK54Muo_lB-5ZhQQg9GU394HByAtWjQxxxtyc8SA-NshMHBv42XROXm2TfZXPrO8K4h12MOXN6fAnUIrH3iJl2vXacVXzqawrHhCS0/s1600/IMG_3885%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1Xc9wNewZFu3CQH2uyONr0Sr1IYosIKAtpzKkmnK54Muo_lB-5ZhQQg9GU394HByAtWjQxxxtyc8SA-NshMHBv42XROXm2TfZXPrO8K4h12MOXN6fAnUIrH3iJl2vXacVXzqawrHhCS0/s320/IMG_3885%255B1%255D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
We made tie dye t-shirts and played a game called Mosquito Bite. Each girl was given a sheet of small dot stickers and they had to "bite" their friends by sticking stickers to their back without getting caught. The girl with the least stickers on their back won the game and got a prize. They also played a game where they teamed up and had a minute to toss marshmellows into their mouths. Team with the most marshmellows won. We had planned to have a race to set up a tent in the front yard and also do some star gazing but the weather did not permit. We of course made smores. <br />
<br />
For crafts, they made lanterns by decopaging different shapes onto glass jars. I let them use some retired Stampin' Up! papers for this. They also used some old non-Stampin' Up! ribbon that I wanted to use up. They tied the ribbon around the mouth to make a handle and we put a candle in each one.<br />
<br />
The cake was a camping scene. It was made by a sister of one Isabel's friends. The candles were actually hidden in the modeling chocolate trees. She did a great job.<br />

<br />
Party favors included a S'Mores kit and a star chart with one of the soda can stars tied onto it. Anyone who did not receive a prize also got to pick from the left over game prizes since we were not able to play all of our games. The S'more Kit Tags were made using My Digital Studio and I tied them to the bag using Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Fabric.<br />

Conveniently, pages 32-36 of the Occasions Mini feature the Sweet Shop product suite- papers, stickers, stamps, scented embossing powder and brads that all coordinate with a Sweet Shop theme. <br />
<br />
Her party will be in early February so I'll have more to post later on the decorations, cake, activities and party favors which will all incorporate the Sweet Shop products. But, as a little teaser, here are her invitations- pieces of salt water taffy to enjoy with the eye (and nose since we just had to try out the scented embossing powder).<br />

<br />
We used the Sweet Shop Designer Series paper and the 3 1/2 inch circle die cut to cut our circles. For the candy centers, I printed my text onto Calypso Coral (you're INVITED) and Whisper White (invitation details) and then cut with the 2 1/2 circle punch. I used My Digital Studio for the design and printing (so easy and simple!). On the front pieces I used VersaMark and the Melon and Cherry Scented Stampin' Emboss Powder to stamp a piece of candy. The candy is from the Sweets for the Sweets Stamp Set in the Idea Book and Catalog. I used clear basket wrap to wrap my "candies" and then tied the ends using 1/8" Organdy Ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog (this is part of the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack Bundle you can earn during Sale-A-Bration). The Organdy Ribbon comes in Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral, we used some of both.<br />
<br />
In anticipation of her party, we've also purchased more card stock in colors that coordinate with the Sweet Shop DSP as well as the following:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Sweet Shop Designer Stickers</li>
<li>Mouthwatering Stamp Set</li>
<li>Bakers Twine - Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder</li>
<li>Jelly Bean Brads</li>
<li>Sweet Shop Trifold Card Designer Template for My Digital Studio</li>
<li>Something Sweet Stamp Set</li>
<li>In Color Designer Printed Brads</li>
</ul>
We'll also be doing more with the Sweets for the Sweet stamp set for the party.<br />
<br />
Come back in February for more details on the party. And, don't forget, Sale-A-Bration starts January 24, 2012 so if you are interested in that Organdy Ribbon, now is the time to check your calendar and book a show or plan to place an order.<br />
<br />
God Bless and Happy Stampin!<br />

They only made it to Facebook. My apologies. However, I do want to post them here so that you can see the techniques as they could be applicable to other cards and designs. I did use The Sounding Joy stamp set from the Holiday Mini which is no longer available, however, all other items are available either in the Idea Book and Catalog or as a carry over item from the Holiday Mini.<br />
<br />
I had two card designs, one using Riding Hood Red and one using Baja Breeze. First the Baja Breeze design because I have to admit that I think it might be my favorite.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLj9CMP-uahsZBTeFlDt0a1d9CcQr0R0RsCaGnwKjXP34FNE04obNrvXDokkL0XMf8vGvO0H-7JbLnaVGApASmfKo8OVH_9VJB7c92-CN9k9TzD034x3u-YVzYFJgEXbCK7Vpk8kxVKTg/s1600/IMG_4003%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLj9CMP-uahsZBTeFlDt0a1d9CcQr0R0RsCaGnwKjXP34FNE04obNrvXDokkL0XMf8vGvO0H-7JbLnaVGApASmfKo8OVH_9VJB7c92-CN9k9TzD034x3u-YVzYFJgEXbCK7Vpk8kxVKTg/s320/IMG_4003%255B1%255D.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The overall dimensions of the card are 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches but the front is short allowing a peak of the inside of the card. You can see I put the Joy stamp in the corner so you get just a hint of it when the card is closed. I used the Petals A Plenty embossing folder to emboss just the front part of the card. To me, they looked a little like poinsettas. I used Very Vanilla cardstock for the front, scoring at 1/8 inch on each side. I stamped the star which has the first two verses of Joy to the World using Baja Breeze. Then I embossed "Let Earth Receive Her King" using the pewter embossing powder (available on the Holiday Mini Carryover list). For a bit of embellishment, I added some Baja Breeze Seam Binding and a Basic Rhinestone.<br />
<br />
My second card design used the Riding Hood Red Card Base and was a traditional 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWMycrtSYf6NijdOGAaKzz9rydC1ki5yamP7LThQepOTT4PtlNP8XhTE71hqvJaKmWKHXukvdxH-FP_hJD_nEZTf4wh1NZA37Uc04ia3mZjeC5abZmg8Dm_IADmzZSs29nwfhp6EnXRIQ/s1600/IMG_4006%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWMycrtSYf6NijdOGAaKzz9rydC1ki5yamP7LThQepOTT4PtlNP8XhTE71hqvJaKmWKHXukvdxH-FP_hJD_nEZTf4wh1NZA37Uc04ia3mZjeC5abZmg8Dm_IADmzZSs29nwfhp6EnXRIQ/s320/IMG_4006%255B1%255D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
For this design, I used the same technique with the star and and embossed the "Let Earth Receive Her King". Before that, I sponged Early Espresso ink around the edges of the Very Vanilla to add a bit of distressing. I wanted the same poinsetta look so I embossed strips of Early Espresso using the Petals A Plenty embossing folder and sponged Frost White Shimmer Paint over the top. I think it looked a little like the those tin ceiling tiles. <br />
