Happy You!

I had started some cards prior to convention and decided to get them finished up so I had some Thank You and general occasion cards. I used the hostess set, Happy You (item #122800 for wood or 122802 for clear). I made a bunch of 4x4 cards. I used Tangerine Tango and Floral District DSP. The ribbon is left from Sale-A-Bration 2012. I always earn so much product during Sale-A-Bration.

Additionally, I had these fun oversized paperclips that I had found at Walmart so I made up some fun book marks.

These are pretty easy to make, just sandwich the paperclips between the large circles. Fun and super easy. These would make great teacher gifts or first day of school treats for your kids.

Cookie Envelope or Christmas Tree Ornament?

As we continue with temperatures above 80F, I'm beating the heat by thinking about Christmas. :)

The new holiday mini includes a great Designer Kit called Season of Sweets which is designed for giving yummy cookies. But, look at it a different way and you have a cute and simple Christmas ornament.

In just a short time, using mostly materials from the Designer Kit. Supplement with additional ribbon, card stock, and stamps- and possibilities are endless!

First is one of my little boy, Liam.

I used some punches and the Googlies from 27 to create a reindeer. Then I added a sentiment, the rest is from the kit. I sealed the back with snail, but you could use 3 way glue for a seal and include the cookie since the kit includes food safe cellophane bags.

My second ornament is one with the whole family. I kept both ornaments simple so you can see how easy and fun this kit is for kids.

On the back of this one, I used the Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags to add our names.

For my teacher friends, this would make a fun holiday gift for kids to make at school while spending very little money. You can make 24 ornaments by buying two designer kits (item #126912), one package of tags (item #128152), and one package of Googlies (item #127539)- total cost of $24.35 before taxes and shipping. You can add your choice of ribbon or bakers twine for a hanger for approximately $5-10, depending on what you select.

Featured Stamp of the Month- August

I'm adding a new feature for all customers and it debuts this month. It is the Stamp Set of the Month Feature. Each month, I will feature projects made using a particular stamp set. If you purchase the stamp set of the month, you will receive a kit with the supplies (cardstock, ribbon, and accessories) and instructions to complete the features projects. The stamp set of the month feature will be posted at the beginning of the month. Throughout the month, additional ideas using the featured stamp set will be shown for more ideas and inspiration.
Now you know how it works, let's see what August has in store. The August stamp set of the month is Moving Forward. This set is on page 209, priced at $19.95 for wood mount (item #126320) and $14.95 for clear mount (item #126322).   I picked this set because it is the Ronald McDonald House Charity set. For each set that is purchased, Stampin' Up! donates $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities.  I'm a big fan of these sets and I really liked the cute frog in this one- of course!  Plus, Stampin' Up! gave all demonstrators attending convention this set for free, asking us to pay it forward by featuring these stamps in classes and projects.  What better way to do that than, start off my new feature with Moving Forward.
The project kit you will receive will allow you to make one card (includes envelope) and one book mark.  The card is a CASE of one by Andi Potler and the book mark is a CASE of the one on page 209 of the catalog.

Again, you will receive the cardstock, accessories, and ribbon necessary to complete these projects.  I will cut everything to size.  Unless you request otherwise, I'll make sure the big shot and punch steps are also complete.  You'll need to provide ink and adhesive.  If you don't have the same inks, you can also bring your kit to one of my workshops to complete your projects.
