I used two full size pieces of Flirtatious Fabric for the bag. I folded each piece half. For the side with ribbon embellishment, I used the iron on fabric adhesive to adhere the ribbon to the fabric, allowing for 1/2 inch on each sides to be captured in the seam. I sewed the sides up using a 5/8 inch seam.
I wanted box corners. To do this, trim the corner, press flat and stitch.
For the flower, I used a rag rug kind of technique to create the center. Twist the fabric and turn on itself to form the center. I used needle and thread to secure the thread but hot glue can also work.
For the "petals" I tore several strips of fabric in equal widths. I stitched the ends together and the used a running stitch to gather one edge. I then stitches it to the back of my flower slowly working my way around and out to create the flower. Once complete, sew to the bag.
For straps, I folded a long strip in half and sew it together on the raw edge. Then I turned it right side out and ironed it.
I totally forgot to take photos of the next steps to finish the bag, so hopefully my instructions will be clear. With right sides together place one bag inside the other. Place the straps between the two sides so the raw edge of each end is caught up when you sew the bag together. Sew together leaving an opening so you can turn the right sides out. Fold the raw edges of the opening in and sew closed. I also sewed all the way around at 1/4 inch. Here is the finished bag:
